Chilled food. Right where service happens.

The LSRF is a commercial refrigerated well designed for chilled food service lines where fresh ingredients, prepared dishes and ready-to-serve food need to stay cold, visible and within easy reach.

Built around standard GN pans, it creates an organised refrigerated servery for cafés, delis, salad bars, sushi counters, quick-service restaurants, buffets, build-your-own concepts and assisted food service.

Available from 2 to 6 pan positions with gantry-only, sneeze guard and assisted-service glass options, the LSRF can be configured around the menu and the way food is presented and served.

Keep the food where the service is.

LSRF keeps chilled food organised in GN pans at the service line, giving staff clear access while keeping the full offer visible to customers — from fresh ingredients and salads to prepared dishes, desserts and deli food.

Built around GN pans

Standard GN pan positions keep different foods separated, organised and easy to change through service.

Food stays in view

Chilled dishes remain visible along the service line, helping customers see the range before they choose.

Choose the service style

Gantry-only, sneeze guard and assisted-service glass configurations suit different counter layouts and service formats.

Cold holding built into the service line.

A refrigerated well is designed to bring chilled food directly into the working servery, rather than keeping it behind the counter in a separate refrigerator.

LSRF holds GN pans at 3–5°C and can be used for fresh ingredients, salads, sushi, prepared dishes, deli food, desserts, cold sides and other chilled food served directly from the counter.

With two to six pan positions, the refrigerated well can be sized around the menu, available counter length and service volume.

Built around the menu

From made-to-order to ready-to-serve.

Some sites use refrigerated wells to build meals from individual ingredients. Others use them to present complete prepared dishes ready for the customer to choose.

That makes the format useful across salad and bowl concepts, deli counters, cafés, buffets and foodservice lines where chilled food needs to remain visible and accessible through service.

The requirement is the same: keep the food cold, keep it organised, and keep it where staff and customers can see it.

Where it works

The Linear Series approach

Bring chilled food into the flow of service.

A refrigerated cabinet keeps food cold behind the scenes. A refrigerated well puts chilled food directly into the service line, where it can be presented, portioned and served.

Whether the pans hold individual ingredients or complete prepared dishes, the result is the same: cold food stays organised, visible and ready for service.

FAQs – Refrigerated Wells & Chilled Food Service

What is a refrigerated food well used for?

A refrigerated well holds chilled food in food pans directly at the service line. It can be used for fresh ingredients, prepared dishes, salads, deli food, sushi, desserts and other chilled products that need to remain visible and accessible during service.

Can refrigerated wells be used for prepared meals as well as ingredients?

Yes. Refrigerated wells are not limited to ingredient stations. They can also be used to present complete chilled dishes, prepared salads, deli foods, desserts, cold sides and other ready-to-serve food in GN pans.

What is the difference between a refrigerated well and a refrigerated display cabinet?

A refrigerated display cabinet is generally designed to enclose and display chilled products. A refrigerated well places chilled food in open GN pans directly within the service line, making it easier for staff to portion, serve or assemble food from the counter.

What is the best refrigeration setup for a salad bar or build-your-own counter?

A refrigerated food well is a strong option when several chilled foods need to remain cold, separated and within easy reach during service. GN pans allow ingredients and prepared foods to be organised individually and replaced as required.

Can a refrigerated well be used for salads, sushi and desserts?

Yes. Refrigerated wells can be used for a wide range of suitable chilled foods including salads, sushi and sushi ingredients, desserts, fresh vegetables, cold proteins, sauces, toppings and prepared sides. Operators should follow the food-safety requirements that apply to the specific food being held.

Are refrigerated wells suitable for cafés and deli counters?

Yes. They work well in cafés and delis where chilled dishes need to be presented and served directly from the counter. They can hold prepared salads, deli foods, desserts and other chilled menu items alongside individual ingredients.

How many GN pans do I need for a refrigerated food service line?

Start with the number of separate foods that need to be available at once, then consider available counter length and service volume. The LSRF range is available with two to six 1/1 GN pan positions.

What is the difference between a sneeze guard and assisted-service glass?

A sneeze guard creates separation above the food while retaining an open service format. An assisted-service configuration creates more separation between the customer and the food, allowing staff to control access from the service side.

What temperature should a refrigerated food well operate at?

Required holding temperatures depend on the food and applicable food-safety requirements. The LSRF operates at 3–5°C. Operators should always follow the requirements that apply to the food being served.
